the big C soon plumpster....just imagine all the new stuff one thing tho' - I know it's a ball ache 70-77 no flying in northrend but I have a 2 seater rocket so can do free lifts been helping to level up some of our folk like that just summat to think about... -------------------- Also, I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile. Knives are good, because they don't make any noise, and the less noise they make, the more likely we are to use them. Shit 'em right up. Makes it look like we're serious. Guns for show, knives for a pro.

Filthy Horde
Rookie..................blimey how many peeps play WOW then? DK's are well cool bud, tanking them is a pain, especially as they can't carry a shield. Doing a sneaky Paladin at the moment called Odin Got 3 lvl 80's - Warrior, Mage and DK and my pala is 58 now so off to Outland I shall go. Is Earthen Ring well populated mate? Might pay to move a couple of characters over there. Got a ton of heirlooms too so no problem leveling -------------------- ![]() |

it's getting there elfy - Tron bought over a DK and leveled her up to 80 then he did a paid trans on his warlock too.
in his words 'ER is weighted towards horde' - I think it's a medium pop but as it's sposed to RP it's weird. -------------------- Also, I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Also my paladin owns atm, tank DPS and I cannot get any time to do questing with all the Dungeons i am doing atm. Did mana tombs yesterday, very hard tanking that, kept getting incapacitated then feared grrrrrr. Got the party wiped twice............ wait, it was all the healers fault

Tanking on a Dk is hard, but I've been tanking the LK lately and he's a down right bastard
Healing on me shammy I hate the DK's who think all you need to do to be a tank is switch to frost presence and you're set. WRONG!! When I levelled my Dk as tank, I had the crafted tanking sets made by a guild mate. Had this muppet Dk tank recently, who didn't have tanking gear, but also didnt bother with the tanking talents. I had a hard time healing her, because I couldn't miss a heal on her as she was taking huge amounts of damage. I wasn't able to heal the party because of this. But I got the aggro: couldnt keep the tank up, I was a n00b etc. You're all on Earthen ring?? Ill start a DK there too... won't be levelling much, as my shammy needs to hit 80 too... Near 76, but little time to do quests/ instances |

am really enjoying the DK tanking but it is hard work as RW says.
I have made a conscious effort to obtain the best tanking gear I can and my GS is somewhere around 5.4k presently. the frosty badges helped with a good belt and am saving those for a really good chest piece next. had to ninja some stuff much to the dismay of some random pugs (got called a 'ninja faggit' by one disgruntled guy) but the gear is getting there. I think I have dragged the guild through most of the heroics now and managed to tank ToC on 10 man. thing I find hard is keeping threat high to keep the nasties interested in me. icy touch, dark command and (if really desperate) death grip. I have gone crazy apeshit with the best stam gems I can - being a jewel crafter really helped with the +51gems I need a better 2nd tanking trinket but I am sure that will come in time. I followed your tanking spec on daftwullie RW so thanks for that - made a couple of minor changes as I don't dual wield (yet). yer - the guild is on the Hairyring - it's swarmed with Hordies at a ratio of 3 to 1 and they have a hard time keeping Wintergrasp. -------------------- Also, I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile. Knives are good, because they don't make any noise, and the less noise they make, the more likely we are to use them. I've recently respecced, I'm tanking in blood mode only right now. I find it's the best mix for survivability/ threat and theres no1 except those OP pally tanks who can over aggro me in ICC. And if a DPS does over-aggro me, he/ she's stupid and deserves to die
If you're having trouble keeping aggro, make sure hit and expertise are high enough. It might even be worth it to switch out a stamina gem for hit/ expertise, preferrebly one that has hit/ stamina combined. And if you have rogues in your raid, they should use tricks of the trade to you. And it's good practice for raids to give the tank 2 seconds head start on the fight, to establish aggro. I usually kick off with a death and decay, but on fights like Festergut ( I run in, between his legs and turn him), I use Icy Touch, Blood plaque and take it from there. Oh ye, do you have Rune Strike macro'd in on all your abilities? #showtooltip <Original Spell> /cast <Original Spell> /cast Rune Strike If rune strike is available, it will use your normal DPS ability and also hit with Rune Strike. Rune Strike is BIG threat builder for DK's. I've started using the macro recently, and it makes live a lot easier. My main tanking weapon is the 2H axe which drops from Saurfang in ICC, I'm hoping we the guild can down him on herioc mode soon, I'd luv to have the 2H axe in ilvl 264 And ye, I'm also a jewelcrafter, I wanted those 51 stamina gems!! |

interesting...I use blood as dps and frost for tank but I know Cat will shift the tank to bloodline when released so I was already planning a change.
also Tron uses frost for normal dps and his is superb. -------------------- Also, I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile.
