3 guys in my friend list with high gamerscore (70.000/80.000) were hacked and to avoid spreading "virus" i deleted most of my friends in my list, i dont wanted anyone to receive this kind of message without been aware.
Basicaly this is how it worked for them: Since halo 3 netcode was hacked, hackers found a way to get passeport.net/hotmail/msn login informations by monitoring informations coming from the console when it establish a link with an other to send the message. You receive a message by someone you dont know, he always congratulates you on your gamerscore or so then u feel you want to reply and say thanks, and then you get caugh, the guy changes your login details and keeps the account for him and usualy ask MS points to give it back, there is nothing you can do after if you didnt phone to microsoft within an hour, they close the account and then its a pain to get back, the most important is that the guy can use your passeport.net account to connect to any MS website, buy stuff if there is a credit card number recorded inside, he has got your real name , adress etc So I deleted all my friend list to avoid my friends to receive this kind of message, and now i dont know if this fixed with the NXE. If my explanation isnt good you can make some research on google, you ll find testimonies on gaming forums like gamespot. My best advice is to do not reply to anyone you never met online before in a game and chatted with him, the risk increase if you have a big gamerscore (they have something to trade: your high score back against MS points ) For those who wants you can send me back friend requests. ps: spread the word -------------------- |

I just got a message of someone congratulating me on my Forza2 gamerscore, stupidly I replied but luckily I remembered this post. I've gone straight away and changed my live ID details.
Thanks for the heads up yan. -------------------- Phoenix Alliance original member #ut.pa @ irc.quakenet.org
