it became UT3 and yes is indeed crap.

they followed on from ut2k4 without taking in what most of the community wanted.
they created a new game type called warfare which had bigger maps with assault style objectives so games would last longer.
what they always seemed to fail to understand is people liked 15-20 minute games of DM or CTF before moving onto the next map.
no one wanted the same map for 3 hours.

they retained all the flashy graphics which still made it very difficult to actually see your opponents.

vehicles were kept too and a new CTF game style was made using them.
and instead of transing about like a loon they restricted it to 5 then it goes to recharge tine.
snipering became a joke with added puffs of smoke which obscured your view.

I could go on for hours with how bad it is and I even got it for the PS3 hoping it might be more playable but it really isn't.
You failed to maintain your weapon, Son.
I don't reckon you've got long. Seen that before. Gut wound. The slug's probably torn right through your liver. Mate of mine in Ulster got caught in sniper fire. Bullet blew his inside out. He screamed for a good 10 minutes. We couldn't send a medic in, the section was too hot. So we all took cover... and watched him die. I've never told that... to anyone... you should've called an ambulance... for the girl...

I didn't think it was as bad as 2k3/4 but as BD said it wasn't great. Vehicles were the big mistake for me, the game just doesn't need them and getting constantly run over or blown up by a tank gun meant if you didn't get in a vehicle you spent all your time respawning or fighting with your own team mates to get one when it was available. I can't see them making anothr one somehow because online it was a total flop.
"Come on! Stop trying to Frag me, and Frag me!...."

.......

"Oh ffs, you did, damn bot!."

last time I bothered to look the number of players in UT was still higher than UT3...

they wanted to take on the big boys but totally missed their own fanbase.

does the Fifa football series ever radically change from year to year?
no it doesn't - it's a gradual evolve and year on year it works and EA get shitloads of money.
