Heya chaps!

Recently home from travels where my adored little 8gig nano ipod was stolen from me! :)

I am now racking my brain on what to buy next with the insurance, I was going to go for an 80gig Classic - or possibly a touch for screen size! A friend then suggested a new Zen X-Fi, though he hasnt used it himself he swears by Zen products, specially as you can play xvids and divx on them, aswell as mp4's... this is kinda swaying me! :D

Do I go for a touch for the screen size, the classic for the memory size, or the Zen for the flexibility!?!? Or is there somethere else to add to the confusion I wonder....

Will also be using this mounted in the car aswell when I buy one, finding a good mount will also be a trial and error I believe!

Any suggestions?

I bought my girlfriend a Creative Zen : Vision M for Xmas about two years ago. It's brilliant, plays just about everything esp xvid's and divx content. Plays pictures and loads of different audio formats. Screen is nice, bright and clear, the battery life is good. Typically 14hrs of audio and 4 hours video.

I'd highly recommend it although I'm sure some of the Apple lovers would disapprove. Having said that the iPOD touch is a fantastic bit of kit. My boss has one and its awesome, aswell as audio / video support it has the Safari browser built in.

db is sooo retro...

I have been 100% delighted with the 2nd hand iTouch I bought.

things I love about it:

ease of use - I know everything has to go via itunes but as a comp mp3 player it's pretty good and the transfer times are very small.

the screen - big is beautiful but the thing I like most? it's damn tough!. so many other players have wimpy screen you can quite easily put a key through if you slip it into the wrong pocket.

it's has really good battery life

like myself...it's very slim - who sniggered???

downsides:
expensive
converting vids to a format it will play
lack of 64bit support

if the itouch is a bit too costly I can recommend the newer version of the nano - more square but will take photos and vids well and even slimmer than me! who ever is sniggering please stop or else....

I don't reckon you've got long. Seen that before. Gut wound. The slug's probably torn right through your liver. Mate of mine in Ulster got caught in sniper fire. Bullet blew his inside out. He screamed for a good 10 minutes. We couldn't send a medic in, the section was too hot. So we all took cover... and watched him die. I've never told that... to anyone... you should've called an ambulance... for the girl...

BD with the iPod Touch must everything be transferred using iTunes? Does it not have a drag and drop utility?

I'm thinking about getting an mp3 player myself and I've been messing about with my bosses iPod Touch, gotta say it's a great bit of kit. I like the fact it has the Safari browser and WiFi connectivity. I think I could get alot of use out of one.

I just hate the iTunes software.

fraid so - I have tried drag n drop but the touch insists on using tunes to get the music, vid or photos over.

thing that impressed me was how fast it did everything.

must admit I really don't mind using iTunes on a day to day basis as a mp3 player.

annoying that they don't support 64bit windows tho'.

the touch is a wonderful bit of kit - only the crapness of the iphone camera stopped me getting that instead.
